Lainey Younkin, MS, RD, LDN is a Registered Dietitian and Nutrition Communication Specialist based in Boston, MA. She counsels individuals one-on-one and leads wellness workshops in corporate and community settings. She uses the latest nutrition science & technology to help clients lose weight, lower blood pressure, reduce cholesterol, manage GI conditions, feel energized, eat mindfully, and achieve total wellness through a healthy lifestyle. She considers the whole person – physically, emotionally, and psychologically – and helps people set practical, realistic goals. She works with people to move past a dieting mentality and into a healthy lifestyle by swapping harmful habits for healthy ones so that the changes last. She’s a firm believer in the power of accountability and uses the latest technology to help people reach their goals.
Lainey’s nutrition communication experience includes working at the European Food Information Council (EUFIC) in Belgium, developing content for Joy Bauer, dietitian for The TODAY Show, and consulting with food and technology companies. Lainey has written for EatingWell Magazine, Tufts Nutrition Magazine, EUFIC’s Food Today, and The Friedman Sprout.
Lainey holds a Bachelor of Science in Food Science – Nutrition & Dietetics from Clemson University. She completed her dietetics training at Massachusetts General Hospital and has a Master of Science in Nutrition Communication from the Tufts Friedman School of Nutrition Science & Policy.
Her specialties include weight loss and maintenance, GI conditions, food allergies, food sensitivities, heart health, pre- and post-natal nutrition, PCOS, and vegan and vegetarian diets. She also offers group workshops and programs, grocery store tours, and pantry makeovers.
Lainey lives in Boston, MA with her husband. In her free time, she enjoys running, being outdoors, exploring new restaurants, trying new recipes, traveling, shopping, and staying up to date on the latest fashion trends.
